RE: Penny, Maggie (Miley), & Frankie (Dallas)
(Adopted Fall 2010)

Just thought we would write to let you know everyone is doing great and thank you to the Feline Welfare Society for allowing us to adopt such beautiful healthy cats.
When we lost our older cats in a short time span from old age, we were so heartbroken and upset for our youngest feline, Layla, being all alone. Out to possibly adopt a kitten, we wound up connecting with 2 year old Penny. Although we set out for a young kitten, when we met Penny, we thought she may be a better match for our 6 year old Layla at home. Penny was so full of spunk and energy, Layla couldn't keep up. We decided we should maybe add a little boy to the pair and balance out the playtime. Perhaps take some heat off Layla and give Penny a challenge. We met 12 week old Frankie and Maggie (siblings) who were a team we wouldn't want to separate.
We are so thrilled to have a full home again, with 4 lovable felines. They each have such unique personalities and we have a lot of fun watching them interact with each other. We love to listen to them run around the house and play.
Maggie is still skittish around other people but seems to enjoy our company and often times curls up next to us at night when we watch tv. She does not meow but makes a "hooting" noise when she runs around. She enjoys all her toys and seems to have adjusted very well.
Her colors have really come out and although a tortoise shell, she has a overall red tone. She has taken very well to Layla and loves to follow her around.
Frankie loves staying up on the second floor and greet you at the stairs when you go up there. He is a very healthy and happy boy and seems to look for affection around 3am most nights. Loves to play.... He is a beautiful tiger stripe with very messy fur and tends to trip a lot on his big feet. Not very graceful but we love him.
Penny is doing wonderful. She seems to either sleep like a baby or go full throttle. Loves to hide behind doors and objects when she is playing and chase the others. Very affectionate and loving. Big beautiful eyes and a belly to match. She's our comedian.
Layla has not changed much at all. Still the queen of the house and seemed to adjust very well to everyone. She is very affectionate and sleeps by my side most nights. She doesn't seem to mind sharing our bed with the other 3....because that is where they all wind up by the morning. Thank goodness we have a king size.
We are so grateful to FWS for helping to make our home a warm and happy one again. With out your time, passion, and committment to rescuing these cats, there is no telling where they would be today. Thanks to you they were found, made healthy again and now in our lives.
Thank you Brenda and FWS. I have attathced some pictures of the clan.

Take care and be well,

Re: Maggie (Adopted May 2011)

I have been meaning to post on FWS for a long time! I adopted my cat Maggie from FWS and she is wonderful!! I have a cat Lilly who loves having another cat to play with! And they are the same long haired cats. I don't currently have a picture of the 2 of them together but, they are best buds! FWS was very accommodating to all of my concerns and made sure that I was a good match for Maggie by checking out which vet I go to and that I take good care of my animals! This is a wonderful organization to adopt from because Brenda makes sure that every cat is matched with the right owner, she doesn't just give away the cats to anyone who wants one because she cares 100% about every cat she is fostering! My mother-in-law also adopted from FWS and she couldn't be happier with her new buddy! Come to the Adoptions and see for yourself all of the well deserving cats FWS has!

Re: Bill (Adopted February 2009)

Bill joined our family in February of 2009 as a scared, neglected, partly feral kitten. He was so nervous when we first got him, he would hide under the bed all day and not come out. He had been rescued from an abandoned house along with several other cats. He was given full medical care by the Feline Welfare Society.

With patience and love, Bill has become the most sweet natured, loving pet we have ever had. I wake up every morning with him cuddled up in the crook of my arm. (Sometimes he chooses to snuggle with my husband, too. He is the softest cat I have ever had the pleasure of petting.

I highly recommend the Feline Welfare Society for cat adoptions. The cats are saved from some of the worst circumstances imaginable, and are lovingly cared for by the unselfish people who run the organization.

Bill's nickname when we first got him was "Will Ferel" now it is "Prince William".

-Wendy

Bill is very fun to play with. I taught him to play "Paw Hockey". That is a game were I throw a treat and he catches it with his paw, or sometimes even with his mouth!

Bill has lots of personality, he likes to play with water balls and a little pant pocket filled with catnip. He is very sweet and loves it when I rub him on the belly or behind the ears.

Bill is my best friend and I love him alot

The Shreve family

To the dedicated members of the Feline Welfare Society,

I am sending you my thanks and gratitude for matching Chloe to our family. We adore her!

We were a family that had never had a pet until just a few years ago when a stray cat walked across our deck and into our hearts. We never did figure out where the gray tabby had come from but we named her Sophie and the vet was able to tell us that she was about 12 years old and in frail health. We had Sophie for two years before we lost her to liver cancer. Having experienced the joy that a cat brings to a family we decided that we would “keep our eye out” for another.

It was a cat loving friend who first told me about your organization. Very familiar with the different cat rescue groups in the area she commented to me that your animals were the most healthy and well adjusted foster cats she had ever seen. This peaked my interest enough to stop by one of your adoptions. Your volunteers took the time to really listen to my story about losing my first cat and my desire to have another join the family. At that time I told you that it needed to be another tabby since I was not sure I would be able to love any other type as much as I had loved my Sophie. You could tell through your questions about our family that we had a spot that a cat would be happy in. Despite having so many sweet ones waiting to be adopted and feeling eager to place one of them in a good home you did not rush or push me into anything. You did mention that you were fostering an “amazing” gray and white tuxedo cat and that I was welcome to come visit her. It took three more months and lots of adoption events later before I was ready to hear more about her. Finally though I did meet Chloe and she was just as special as you had claimed. Very quickly I was certain that she was the one who with her soft silky fur and sassy attitude could fill the hole left in our hearts from Sophie’s passing! You made a great match and we could not be happier or more in love with our sweet girl Chloe! Because she was fostered in a loving environment she is healthy and happy and quick to settle in to her new environment and come to trust us. At this point she certainly thinks she owns the place as she travels from sun spot to sun spot for her daily naps!

I am so impressed with your small, but very dedicated organization. It is obvious that you are passionate about your mission of ensuring the welfare of area felines and are really good at making the right match between them and the families who can give them loving homes. I will be sure to recommend your group to anyone I know who is looking to add a new cat or kitten to their family!

Please accept this donation from our family to help further your work in appreciation of all that you do!
